Jappelloup V/H Dauwhof is a son of Echo van het Neerenbosch. In the 2008 stallion competition, Echo – a son of Chin Chin – ranked third in the ‘four-year-old stallion’ category. One year later he finished seventh in the national LRV championship for young showjumping horses. Then in 2010 he claimed third place in the final for young horses in Chantilly, France. The stallion is currently rehabilitating and will make his come-back in the showjumping world in the very near future. Via his dam, Wika, Echo van het Neerenbosch inherited the performance blood of Kashmir van Schuttershof (sire: Nabab de Rêve), who enjoys a very good reputation as a supplier of brilliant showjumping horses.

Jappelloup’s dam is the Hanoverian mare Westy, whose pedigree combines the famous progenitors Ferdinand, Gotthard, Marcio xx and Senator. Westy herself performed in Germany at M-level, and several of her descendants were sold abroad, such as Gazelle v/h Dauwhof (a daughter of Cicero Z), who found a new owner in England.

Following the BWP stallion expertise in 2012, Jappelloup V/H Dauwhof was crowned as the champion. Boudewijn Schepers, president of the BWP stallion selection committee, described Jappelloup as “a modern horse with a lot of expression, correctly built legs, noble forehand and a good upper part. He also impressed with his movements in Moorsele as well as in Neeroeteren. Under the saddle he gave the riders a good feeling.”

Jappelloup V/H Dauwhof was bred by Willy Denolf.
