Vannan’s sire, Diamant de Semilly (by Le Tot de Semilly) was very successful in the international showjumping world. In 2002 Diamant and his rider Eric Levallois won the golden team medal during the World Championship in Jerez de la Frontera and ranked ninth individually. In the same year they won the French showjumping championship. In 2003 they won the team silver medal during the European Championship in Donaueschingen. They also celebrated victory in several Grand Prix. In the WBFSH ranking of the best suppliers of showjumpers worldwide, Diamant de Semilly is ranked fifth.

Via his dam Quana One de l’Eaugrenée, Vannan inherited the performance blood of Kannan, number two in the world ranking of the best showjumping progenitors. Kannan is sire of legendary jumpers such as Nino des Buissonnets (Steve Guerdat), winner of individual gold during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Quana One de l’Eaugrenée’s dam is called Ursula de l’Eaugrenée (by Inducteur). Ursula gave birth to several outstanding international performers such as Enjolleuse de l’Eaugrenée (Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Richard Davenport) and Tainted Love of Bellerose (Mclain Ward and, later, Hannah Patten).

Vannan’s great-grandmother Olivette de l’Eaugrenée is also the grandmother of the international showjumper Riquitta de l’Eaugrenée (partnered with Emanuele Fiorelli).
