Nero C’s sire is Clarence C, a Carano son who was laurelled as ‘Reservesieger’ on the occasion of the 2005 Neumünster stallion approval, before being sold to Spain. In Clarence C’s maternal line we meet performance blood via his dam, Kira XVII, a daughter of Lavall I out of Maltia. Kira XVII is not only the dam of Clarence C, she also produced the legendary Caretino son Casall ASK, who plays a leading role on the international showjumping scene and has himself sired many top showjumpers, such as Powerplay (Eric Lamaze), Cristallo A LM (Julien Epaillard), Casallo Z (Piergiorgio Bucci), Croesus (Beat Mändli) and Casello (Douglas Lindelöw). In combination with Lord, Maltia gave birth in 1981 to Taura. This dam produced the approved stallions Ringo Starr, Cesano I and Cesano II, as well as international showjumpers Crocodile Dandy (Alison Firestone) and Conally (Markus Renzel). Via her daughters Winja and Chamonix, Maltia is also the grandmother of international showjumpers Capone I and Corinessa. Nero C is absolutely not the first approved son of Clarence C, others being Kullen C (vice-champion BWP stallion approval 2013), Klark Kent C, Clarucci C and Charmanto.

In Nero C’s maternal line we meet several progenitors, such as Heartbreaker, Darco and Ahorn Z. Urcess, Nero C’s dam is also the dam of Burcess C Z and Jigaro C. Last year, Burcess C Z (sporting name: Blinky Bill 6) performed several times in five-star showjumping classes, in partnership with Australian Julia Hargreaves. The seven-year-old Jigaro C performs at 1m35 to 1m40 level at international three-star showjumping competitions partnered with Stephan de Freitas Barcha. Urcess is a full sister to Romanov (approved stallion and five-star showjumper under the saddle of Bertram Allen), Westminster (approved stallion and international showjumper) and Zirkan van ’t Wolferink (Giovanni Lucchetti). Urcess is a half-sister to, for instance, Ariness van ’t Wolferink (World Cup horse of José Luiz Guimaraes de Carvalho) and Liverpool 49.
