Riesling is made with the best ingredients from the ‘van de Padenborre’ studfarm. Andre Leemans, the founder of this studfarm, bred form Draisienne (BWP line 21) Himalaya in 1984 and Jessica two years later. Both dams each form a very strong branch in this line and are both anchored in the pedigree of Riesling: Jessica is the granddam of Iron Man van de Padenborre (the sire of Riesling), whereas Himalaya is the great-granddam of Riesling. The best of both worlds, united in one stallion: Riesling!  

 

Grégory Wathelet and powerhouse Iron Man have been a permanent, successful combination in the 5* circuit. Ho Go van de Padenborre, a full brother to Iron Man, also performed at the highest level, in partnership with Denis Lynch. This Jessica branch includes some more international brilliant showjumpers, including Socrates VD Padenborre (Edwina Tops-Alexander), Up And Down VD Padenborre (Jeroen Dubbeldam) and Toronto VD Padenborre (Juan Carlos Garcia). 

 

Riesling’s dam, Elite VD Padenborre, also produced her business card in the top showjumping world. Her son Las Vegas VD Padenborre (°2011) achieved several top ten places in 2020 during 4* competitions (1m50 to 1m55 level). Elite makes part of the Himalaya branch, just like the international performers Ohio, Riot Gun, Val T’Horens, Winchester, Fox Trot and Butterfly VD Padenborre. Riesling, highly recommended for gourmets of exclusive top class.
