Uncanto di Villagana is a son of Canturo. Already as a young horse, Canturo showed his exceptional skills at the World Championship for Young Horses. Together with Bernardo Alves, the stallion participated in the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 and at the WEG in 2006. In addition, he won the "Prize of Europe" in Aachen and he also won a class in Spruce Meadows. To top if off, he is a great sire as well with offspring like Good Luck, Canturano and Can Ya Makan!

A month earlier, the combination also finished third in the CSI3* Grand Prix of Moorsele! Steffen and Uncanto di Villagana also finished second in the CSIU25 Grand Prix of Lausanne and Valkenswaard. In Opglabbeek, their last show before Mechelen, they finished third in the 1m40 and third in the 1m50 Grand Prix. During the Sires of the World of CSI5*-W Mechelen they closed the year in style with a second place!
