Chopin van het Moleneind is a son of the famous stallion Quick Star. Quick Star won several Grand Prix and world Cups. His most important victory is probably the Grand Prix in Aachen in 1994.
At the mother side Chopin has the genes of Belgium's most important ambassador, Darco. His mother Vasnura van het Moleneind (Darco) finished 11th at the final ranking of the national circuit for 7 year old horses after which she was sold to  Onychenko. She is also the half sister of Quervo Gold (ex Quro) who won lots of world cups, Grand Prix and Nations Cups. Chopin's grandmother is the famous Nura (Codexco), who won several Grand Prix and Nations cup with Ludo Philippaerts, like the Grand Prix of Maastricht and the Nations Cups of La Baule and Lissabon..
