Hermantico’s sire is Comme Il Faut. Despite his young age, Comme Il Faut is proving himself in the breeding world as well as in showjumping arenas at the highest level. He is a fixed combination in partnership with Marcus Ehning. Some of their highlights in 2015: three top-10 placings in World Cup classes (fourth in Oslo, sixth in Helsinki and ninth in London), third place in the Rome Grand Prix (five-star 1m60) and third in the Rotterdam Grand Prix (five-star 1m60). Showjumping blood certainly runs in the family. Comme Il Faut was born in 2005, the result of combining top progenitor Cornet Obolensky (ex-Windows van ‘t Costersveld) with Ratina Z, also known as the ‘showjumping dam of the 20th century’. Ratina Z won for instance a World Cup final, the Mannheim European Championship, the Aachen GP, silver at the Barcelona Olympic Games and so on. Thanks to the ‘Roshoeve’ studfarm, breeders can make use of a son of the promising GP showjumper Comme Il Faut.
Hermantico’s dam is Chiquitita. She has Westphalian roots, although we twice meet the Holsteiner Cantus in her pedigree. Cantus is known as the sire of excellent international showjumpers, such as Come On, Caletto, Calvaro, Calido, Canaletto and Canturo. In this record we must not forget to mention Chiquitita’s sire, Colbert, because this son of Cantus was also a successful showjumper. Chiquitita’s dam, Cira BE, is a daughter of Come On (by Cantus) and gave birth to Camirage, a daughter of Charisma. In partnership with Ireland’s Christina Kelly, Camirage performed at 1m60 level. In 2015, Hermantico won the stallion tests in the Netherlands.
